The Origin Story:

Hawaii born, AKUA is a Hip-Hop / Rap artist with roots and influence from all walks of music. Utilizing complex rhythms and dark lyrical punchlines AKUA has a style that is intelligent, fierce and unique. Drawing a fanbase of hardcore rap fans, to metal heads, and Drum & Bass aficionados alike, his music is intense, vivid, and inspiring.

Growing up in the Colorado D&B scene, AKUA cut his teeth performing alongside Denver legends DJ Fury & MC Dino to sold out Red Rocks crowds and packed nightclub audiences. Over time, he refined his talents and leaned into the Hip Hop scene, collaborating with local luminary Black Pegasus under his Bobby Hook moniker. Even though he had the fire inside, things didn't quite connect, and he almost gave up on music...

Almost.  

After overcoming many personal struggles, becoming a single father, and battling inner demons, his inner fire stoked into a raging inferno and AKUA THE GOD was born from the ashes of his former selves. Forging his pain, rage, and aggression into a razor sharp lyrical weapon, AKUA was re-birthed in the studio unleashing savage brutality with his gritty, overdriven bass and raw unique drum programing. No sign of mush-mouthed mumble rap here just intense bars depicting city life and a flow reminiscent of a horror film taking aim at fashion-focused so-called Emcees, overproduced pop artists, and cash flashing pill poppers. His imposing presence and grim demeanor juxtaposed over menacing beats brings a unique vibe to the rap scene, flexing a clearly articulated delivery leaving no questions that he belongs in the rap pantheon.
